As many of you know Evoker is one of my good friends, and I try and post about pretty much everything he does. Recently, he got a chance to team up with another one of favorite artists that I have also worked closely with MCA from Evil Design! We posted pictures a couple weeks back of the MWM x Traitor bicycle frames. Now OPEN/Chorus Gallery has released a date for the opening that will feature the frames along with some other pieces of Matt’s work. So make sure to check out the show August 15th from 8pm-12am at their location in Somerville, MA.
Saturday Grace and I headed to the Dew Tour to check out some skateboarding alone with some live painting. Not only did our friend Evoker get a chance to paint live in the Dew & Fuel TV tent, I also introduced him to one of his favorite old school skateboarders Chris Pastras co-owner of Stereo Kateboards. I’m sure he will have a picture of them together on his blog soon, in the mean time check out some pictures of the day below.
Our good friend Josh Falk with the help of Nick Z got an amazing opportunity to paint ramps and staging for the Dew Tour this weekend in Boston. If you dont know about the “Dew Tour” its the world’s premier season-long action sports tour, and will feature the world’s best athletes in skate vert and park. The tour and his work will be seen LIVE globally to over 150 million households in 11 languages across 48 countries and four continents. I dont know how I forgot to post about this, I guess my life has been insane! A little while ago my good friend Jeff did a piece about my Dad’s museum in Maine that got featured on highsnob.com. It was the first in depth look at the space by an outsider- check out the full post here and some pictures below.

So this weekend, between working and having bad allergy attacks, I got a little free time to get out and have some fun. Late Saturday afternoon I finally left my house and stole Zack from OPEN’s Reminton, and went for my first 40 mile bike ride in a long time! I headed out of the city and ventured to a pond in Winchester for a nice afternoon of laying by the water and reading business books… haha of course my afternoon has to involve something business related.
Sunday, I was back at work at LAB, but luckily I got to spend a portion of the day with one of my favorite pit bulls Remi! Having a dog at the shop just makes everything better, people smile when they come in and you just dont feel so alone. After closing up the shop Sunday, we decided it was time for the claw machine! Lana has searched high and low for the best claw machines in the city and TC’s is by far one of the best. Not only is it filled with porn and watches- Lana is a pro-claw machine user. She has won more items out of this machine then anyone I know, not sure what she is going to do with her pile of big booty milfs and sweet & sour asians… but I’m sure we will all be getting something porn related for Christmas this year.
The guys over at OPEN just released their new video, “It Ain’t That Serious” shot and edited by Steve from Quarter Productions. The premier for the video was this past Saturday at their grand opening party, but just in case you missed it the video is now up on vimeo or you can check it out below. Enjoy!
If you live in the Boston area you have probably heard a little talk about a new shop called OPEN. For those of you that haven’t, here’s a little information about it. My friends Zack & Josh have been working non-stop the past couple to months to build and develop a bicycle shop, art gallery, and design studio. The space is very unique, from the hand built furniture & fixtures including: a 200 pound stainless steal door for a gallery entrance, a custom built bike ramp leading down to the shop and some of the heaviest solid wood display tables I have ever seen. I can honestly say there is nothing like this shop in Boston, and even if your not the biggest cycling enthusiast this shop makes you appreciated the culture and all aspects that go into building a bike.
OPEN will be having it’s grand opening party this Saturday, April 11, 2009- so make sure to check it out.
